Weird facts about me...

Last week I was tagged by Danielle, she seems to think I have some weird characteristics to share ;-) Ok, lets see how far I get LOL
  1. I share her fear for toenails, they look too naked without polish. Actually I don't like them with polish either, not my own, and not my loved ones, let alone strangers toes. Strange thing is though I always have to look at them.
  2. In bed I completely cover myself with blankets, only my nose sticks out, when it gets too warm I put one leg on the blankets.
  3. When I get nervous I pull hair out of my eyebrows.
  4. I am addicted to spicy food. I can last a few days without, but then put chillipaste on my sandwich.
  5. I do not like to watch tv unless there is a good movie on.
  6. I have a phobia for noises, too much noise makes me nervous.(leaving me without eyebrows LOL).
  7. I do have a drivers licence, but am afraid to drive the car on the highway (waving at Mandy ;-)
  8. I talk to myself too, not only when scrapping... but now I wonder if that is weird as most scrappers who got this tag gave this answer ;-)
  9. I hardly ever use my newest papers for a layout, somehow I like them way too much to cut them up, I love to look at them for a while, usually after a month or two I can part with them (meaning some new stash came in ;-))
  10. I have this urge to touch/feel any artwork with structure. I once touched a piece of art in museum that had such a nice dark fluffy black look, it turned out to be charcoal spray painted in some way. They were not happy with me.

Ha, that was easy! When I try a little harder I am sure I can come up with more LOL! Now am I weird?

I have to tag ten more people, but everyone I know has already been tagged, so if you visit this blog, and like to share your weirdness then please let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear from you!

Have a nice day!

Daring Wednesday...

again... this time the assignment was NOT to use any prefab papers or embellishments. I made this lo about Mei-Li's passion for collecting uhh... well anything basically. I bought her this little pink basket so she could keep her "treasures" in there. Of course it had to be filled right away, and look what she found, guess I had to explain the word "treasure"first LOL.
We would love to see your layouts, come and play the Dutch Dares with us! And who knows you might win a RAK sponsored by Memory Lane Scrapbooking.
Thanks for visiting, have a great week!

Today four years ago...

in a room on the 38th floor of a hotel in Nanjing China, there were two nervous women waiting for a precious gift. One hour earlier then expected the phone rang, a lady on the other side said they arrived... In to the hallway we went MIL with video camera all set... then we heard the elevator opening just around the corner, one of the women started to cry, the other couldn't stop trembling... some cute sounds came our way...

In case you are wondering DH could not come, he had a collapsed long and in the midst of the SARS period the hospital didn't think it was a good idea for him to travel :-( And yes, we have a great video of the ceiling and walls of the hotel ;-)

Today it is four years ago I became a mummy in a far away country. Mei-Li was not exactly happy with us, she cried for hours and did not wanted to look at these big eyed white women. Luckily that all changed :0)

This lo is made on a bathroom tile, I used loads of alcohol ink, pearlex and embossing powders. I also used a red thread, this is a Chinese proverb often used by families adopting from China.

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.

The little baby in the picture needed some time to get used to us, her new home and all the attention she got. She grew to be a happy five year old, who sometimes drives me nuts :0)) (see trashcan) And I love it!

Have a beautiful day!

6 years...

ago, we said yes. Yes to a life together as husband and wife. Six years already, six years with down, but mainly up times... Here is what I just got... Ain't he sweet?

Things have been a bit hectic here lately. We are selling our house and I've been busy cleaning this week, who knows me knows that I am not very good at that and I am not so fast either LOL.
Now that it is all done I thought I deserved some scrapping time, so here is what I made. Papers are Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl letters are American Craft Thickers which I outlined with black marker.
Wish you all a happy Easter! Thanks for visiting.
